ONEONTA, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam men's volleyball team (9-5) rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Hartwick College (5-19) 3-2 on Friday night.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Bears outlasted the Hawks in set one, 26-24. Senior outside hitter Duncan Tenhagen (Buffalo, N.Y./West Seneca West) led the Bears with six kills, while junior right side Benson Jovel-Truong (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) and freshman outside hitter Jonathan Kang (Ossining, N.Y./Ossining) each had three.
• Set two was the reverse of the first set, with Hartwick taking a 25-21 win. Jovel-Truong and senior middle hitter Mike Kilinski (Greenfield Center, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) each had two kills.
• It was more of the same in set three with a Hawks' 25-23 victory. Tenhagen and freshman right side Brayden Kilinski (Greenfield Center, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) each recorded four kills.
• Potsdam overpowered Hartwick in set four 25-18, to tie the match at 2-2. Tenhagen had four more kills, while junior outside hitter Calum Anderson (East Hampton, N.Y./Easthampton), sophomore outside hitter Alexander Bholasing (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) and Mike Kilinski each had two kills.
• The Bears held on for the 15-13 win in set five to take the match. Mike Kilinski had five kills and Tenhagen added three. Anderson chipped in two.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Tenhagen finished with 18 kills, two aces, three blocks and seven digs. Mike Kilinski had 13 kills, four blocks, six digs and an ace.
• Junior setter Alex Lombardo (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) had 22 assists and four aces.
• Freshman setter Shane Goldberg (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna) totaled a career-high 26 assists and freshman libero Rowan Root (Buffalo, N.Y./St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute) had a personal best 24 digs. Junior middle hitter Jack Orrange (North Tonawanda, N.Y./North Tonawanda) also contributed a personal best five blocks.
• Keegan Doherty led the Hawks with 20 kills and Nate Roorbach had 60 assists and 13 digs for the hosts.
• Tenhagen's kills and aces records are now up to 859 and 127, respectively. Lombardo's program assists mark is currently at 1525.
