SUNY Potsdam Athletics

Murphy Newman returns for her senior season with the Bears. She has 92 goals and 16 assists for 108 points in 32 games. She was named third team All-SUNYAC last season.
 
2016: Played in 16 games, scored 61 goals one shy of the team record, handed out 10 assists and totaling 71 points to tie the program's single season record, also grabbed seven ground balls and caused three turnovers, named third team All-SUNYAC
 
2015: Played in all 16 games with 14 starts, was second on the team in goals with 31 and third in points with 37, caused 10 turnover and collected 19 ground balls
 
2014 (with Niagara University): Played in two games, recorded an assist
 
Personal: Daughter of Kirstin and Paul Newman . . . majoring in Psychology with a minor in Human Services . . . also played soccer at Berkshire School where she was team MVP  . . . member of the New England All-Star team for lacrosse and was first team All-Northern in both soccer and lacrosse . . . favorite musician is Matchbox Twenty . . . favorite movie is Life As We Know it . . . favorite foods are pickles and sushi . . . favorite athlete is Torey Krug . . . favorite sports team is The Boston Bruins . . . lists her parents and brothers as her heroes for dragging her to all her sporting events while growing up . . . favorite chose class at Potsdam is Abnormal Psychology . . . chose Potsdam because it was not close to home, but the people were very welcoming,  it is a beautiful campus, had both her major and minor and Coach Bruce and the team were all very welcoming to newcomers
