Gideon L. Smith is entering his first season with the Bears. 

 Personal: Son of Scott and Jennifer Smith… majoring in Chemistry minoring in Biology and Wilderness Education… career ambition is to earn a PhD in Chemistry… favorite hobbies include skiing, hiking, running, snowshoeing, and other outdoor activities… favorite class at Potsdam is Rock Climbing… greatest Potsdam memory was a classmate having to use the emergency shower in an organic chemistry lab… college academic achievements include President’s List (every semester), Freshman Chemistry Award, Chemistry Department Scholar Award, Northern New York ACS Award, Physical Chemistry Award, and Chemistry Department Service Award...greatest Potsdam memory was the ability was to lead a group of students backpacking with his coleader with no supervision from a professor during the trip.
