OSWEGO, N.Y.—Oswego State (3-5, 1-1 SUNYAC) defeated the SUNY Potsdam women's lacrosse team (2-6, 0-2) 17-6 on Tuesday afternoon. Senior captain

Morgan Cook (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) led the Bears with two goals each and sophomore goalie
Katie Longamore (Dexter, N.Y./General Brown) made nine saves.
Oswego scored just 53 seconds into the contest, but Cook gave Potsdam a 2-1 with goals at 28:03 and 23:31. The Lakers then went on a 6-0 run over the next 12 minutes, which included three goals from Montana Garrett and two Kendall Appelbaum. Lapinski closed the gap to 7-3 with her first at the 9:16 mark. Oswego added two more tallies and took a 9-3 advantage into the break.
Gemma O'Kane and Lapinski traded the first two goals in the opening 1:41 of the second half. The Lakers followed with a 4-0 stretch, sparked by consecutive markers from Toni Laneve, to take a 12-4 lead with 23:12 to play. Senior captain
Murphy Newman (Canton, N.Y./Berkshire School) netted the Bears' fifth goal of the game with an assist from junior attack

Angela Ponto made 11 saves in goal for Oswego.
The Bears are back home on Saturday to begin a five-game homestand starting with Buffalo State at 1 p.m.
