Men's Hockey
The men's hockey team took on the College at Brockport in a SUNYAC matchup on Friday night. Despite an outstanding night in net for senior assistant captain Nate Skidmore (Syracuse, N.Y./Buffalo Jr. Sabres), the Bears fell to the Golden Eagles by a score of 3-0. Skidmore finished the night with 41 saves on 44 shots, while Jake Moore made 23 saves for the shutout win. The Bears went 0-3 on the powerplay, while Brockport finished the night 1-6 on the man advantage.
The men's hockey team wrapped up their weekend road trip Saturday night against second ranked SUNY Geneseo. Despite another strong showing from Skidmore, the Bears fell by a score of 5-0. Skidmore finished with 25 saves, while Devin McDonald picked up the shutout with 17.

Women's Hockey
Sophomore goaltender Samantha White (Oceanside, N.Y./Anaheim Lady Ducks) picked up her third career shutout as the women's hockey team defeated SUNY Canton 3-0 on Tuesday night. Junior forward Miranda Kolb (Watertown, N.Y./SUNY Cortland), sophomore forward Natalie Wasielewski (Carnegie, Pa./Pittsburgh Penguins Elite) and sophomore defenseman Keira Thacker (Oakville, Ontario/Hamilton Hawks) each scored for the Bears. At 12:06, a Kangaroo was whistled for tripping and Potsdam took advantage. Junior defenseman Delphine Léonard (Anjou, Quebec/Dawson College Prep) kept the puck in the zone at the left point and fed it to senior forward Tatum Walber (Orchard Park, N.Y./Buffalo Regals). Walber put the puck into the slot and Kolb scored as she fell. Just 31 seconds later, Wasielewski knocked home a loose puck at the left side of the net to make it 2-0. Sophomore forward Allie Banas (Buffalo, N.Y./Buffalo Bisons) and junior forward Lucy Condon (Waterloo, Ontario/Waterloo Ravens) each assisted on the goal. Potsdam added to its lead with an even-strength marker at 7:03. Thacker scored her first collegiate goal from the right point after a pass from freshman forward Stephanie Dunlap (Bath, Mich./Meijer U19 AAA) deflected to her. White stopped all 17 shots she faced and Canton junior goalie Brooke Susac (Bowmanville, Ontario/Clarington Flames) finished with 20 saves. Potsdam was 1-for-4 on the power play and the Kangaroos were 0-for-4.

Men's Basketball
The men's basketball team fell to the conference leading SUNY Oswego 72-70 on Tuesday night. Oswego had it going from outside, shooting a blistering 12-of-21 (57%) on threes. Both teams exchanged leads throughout the tightly contested game, but the Lakers pulled away with critical baskets from Quinn Carey and Julien Crittendon. Senior guard Nosa Onabor (Brooklyn, N.Y./Northside Charter) had 17 points and grabbed five boards. Junior guard Danny Delsol-Lowry (Queens, N.Y./Queens High School of Teaching) put up 11 points to go along with five rebounds and three assists. Junior guard Jayquan Thomas (Hollis, N.Y./Richmond Hill) added 15 points and was disruptive on the defensive end with six steals. The Lakers led 60-54 and called a timeout at the 9:13 mark. Immediately after the timeout, junior guard Aaron Armstrong (Lisbon, N.Y./Madrid-Waddington) sinked his first three of the game and senior forward Serigne Kane's (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Brooklyn Prep) layup brought the Bears to within one. Carey then hit a three of his own with a hand in his face, and Pierre followed it up with a layup. The shot forced a Potsdam timeout and Oswego led by six with five minutes remaining. Senior forward Dante Langley (Schuylerville, N.Y./Schuylerville) hit a mid range jumper at the 4:30 mark, and neither team could get a bucket until just over minute remaining, with Carey making his fifth three-pointer, forcing a Bears timeout. After two made free throws from Onabor, Langley and Crittendon exchanged layups down the stretch. Down five with three seconds left, Potsdam got a clutch three from Thomas. Sandborn was intentionally fouled and sent to the line where he missed the free throw, but with only a second remaining and no timeouts, Potsdam wasn't able to get off a quality shot and fell 72-70.

The men defeated SUNY Geneseo 84-63 on Friday night. The Bears second half was key for them in the win as they outscored the Knights by 22 after a tightly contested first half. Onabor scored a season-high 28 points and knocked down a season-high five 3-pointers to lead the Bears. Thomas had 17 points to go along with five rebounds and three steals. Delsol-Lowry added 14 points and had a season-high with five steals. Langley's two-handed slam in transition off the feed from sophomore guard Colby Simpson (Queens, N.Y./Queens High School of Teaching) tied Potsdam's largest lead at 11, with 6:57 to play. The Bears defense limited the Knights chances at a comeback and Onabor's three with under three minutes made it a 14 point game. Onabor hit his fifth shot beyond the arc with seconds left and the Bears came away with the 84-63 win.

The Bears defeated SUNY Brockport 78-71 on Saturday evening. Neither team was able to get any separation until the Bears eventually pulled away with their clutch free throw shooting. Langley scored 21 points and pulled down eight rebounds for the Bears. Onabor finished with 18 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in the win. Delsol-Lowry added 12 points and dished out five assists. Coming out of a timeout down 56-60, Onabor drilled a three from the top of the key off the dish from Langley. After being fouled while capturing the defensive rebound, Langley knocked down both free throws to once again give Potsdam the lead with five minutes remaining. After a layup from Devante Hagins, Onabor and Langley each scored for the Bears. Following Brockport free throws, Onabor knocked down another three from the key with just over a minute remaining. Brockport came within two after Davonte Jones' layup with 47 seconds left, but the Bears free throw shooting down the stretch secured the 78-71 victory.

Women's Basketball
The women's basketball team picked up another SUNYAC road win on Tuesday night after defeating Oswego State 59-52. Potsdam led for all but one minute of the game. Freshman guard Dyamon Hunter (Bronx, N.Y./Thurgood Marshall Academy) led the Bears with 16 points, to go along with four rebounds, three assists and two steals. Freshman forward Devyn Elliott (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) added 14 points, four rebounds and four assists. The Bears opened up the fourth with a 10-0 run. Elliott's completion of the and-one at the line put Potsdam up 12, their largest lead of the game. The Lakers got within six after Rachael Windhausen's shot inside and Quincey Zimmerman's three. Both teams struggled to score after the shot. Hunter scored for the Bears at the 3:11 mark with a layup, and Oswego finally ended their dry spell after Zimmerman drilled another 3-pointer from the left wing. Free throws from the Bears put them up nine and with time against the Lakers, SY hit a three from the top of the key to cut it back to six with under 30 seconds remaining. After SY hit another jumper for the Lakers, Hunter hit two clutch free throws and came up with a steal in the last 10 seconds to secure the 59-52 win.

The women fell to the conference leading SUNY Geneseo 72-48 on Friday afternoon. Potsdam had a strong first half and was able to take a double-digit lead in the second quarter. Geneseo came out of halftime and outscored the Bears 27-4 in the third and built a 28-point lead in the fourth. Elliott had 17 points and added 10 rebounds to lead Potsdam. Sophomore center Naya Walters (Bronx, N.Y./Women's Academy of Excellence) added added 10 points and eight rebounds. Mckenna Brooks led the Knights with a game-high 19 points and 10 rebounds.

The women's basketball team fell to SUNY Brockport 72-66 on Saturday afternoon. Throughout the tight contest, both teams exchanged leads for the majority of the game. The Golden Eagles eventually took the lead in the fourth quarter and never relinquished it. Elliott led the Bears with 27 points and six rebounds. Hunter finished with 17 points and eight assists. Freshman guard Chelsea Henry's floater midway through the fourth quarter put the Golden Eagles back in front 54-53. Elliott and Allison Chiera both then scored baskets for their respective teams and the Bears called a timeout. Coming out of the timeout freshman forward Kylee Rosbrook hit a three from the top of the key for Brockport. Rosbrook's free throw with three minutes remaining put Brockport up six. Following the free throw, Potsdam was able to keep themselves in the game with a layup through contact by Elliott then free throws by Walters. Nestler kept the Golden Eagles ahead after finishing inside around two defenders. After free throws from the Golden Eagles, Hunter banked a three-pointer off the glass to bring Potsdam to within three with 30 seconds remaining. Fouled intentionally, Brockport made the free throws to make it a two possession game and secured the 72-66 win.
