Bears golf 6th at Empire 8 Spring Championships

HERSHEY, PA.—The SUNY Potsdam golf team finished sixth at the Empire 8 Spring Championships this weekend. St. John Fisher College won the team title with a two-day score of 609. The Bears finished with a score of 690.

Sophomore Jake Juron (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) led Potsdam with a 13th place finish after shooting rounds of 84 and 76 for a 160. Juniors Vincent Guimond (Sorel-Tracy, Quebec/Rice Memorial Prep) and Devin Caples (Wilton, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) finished just a stroke apart with a 175 (87, 88) and a 176 (86, 90), respectively. Junior Dylan Estal (DeWitt, Iowa/South Jefferson) was right behind with a 179 (89, 90). Senior Andrew Scuncio (Essex, Conn./Pittsford-Mendon) and freshman Jack Corcoran (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) closed out the Bears' lineup with scores of 188 (94, 94) and 191 (92, 99).

Potsdam wraps up the season next weekend at the Oswego Laker Spring Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
