Potsdam opened the game on an 8-0 run, including the only six goals of the first quarter. Burley scored both of his markers in the opening 15 minutes, including a man-up goal. Talcott and Walsh also scored twice in the quarter. Sophomore attackman

Cree set up Talcott's third goal at 13:07 of the second quarter and Walsh netted his third unassisted at 8:57. Chris LaBonte finally got the Spartans on the board at 4:35, but Walsh countered with his fourth on a helper from Miller at 1:25 and the Bears led 9-1 at the break.
Talcott buried his fourth at 8:16 of the third quarter and LaBonte struck again, while a man up to make it 10-2 at 7:29. Miller then notched his third assist while setting up Walsh's fifth goal at 4:37. Reber closed the quarter's scoring at 3:43 and Potsdam led 11-2 after 45 minutes.

Ryan Hughes (Corning, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post) assisted on Talcott's fifth tally at 12:51 of the fourth quarter. Colter McComas followed with Castleton's third and final goal of the day while a man up at 10:17. Potsdam finished the contest with the final three goals. Junior attackman
