Bears upended by first place Endicott, 3-1

BEVERLY, MASS.—Endicott College (14-5, 4-0 NECC) defeated the SUNY Potsdam men's volleyball team (12-15, 3-1) 3-1 in a battle of NECC undefeated teams on Saturday afternoon.
 
Senior outside hitter Joe Zimmerman (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) and sophomore outside hitter Tom Shemik (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) each led the Bears with eight kills. Zimmerman also had six digs, an ace and a block. Sophomore middle Jason Hendler (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) had seven kills and a match-best four blocks. Senior setter Alec Roy (North Tonawanda, N.Y./North Tonawanda) had 24 assists and three blocks. Senior libero Keven Sanchez (Watertown, N.Y./Watertown) added seven digs.
 
Rafa Robert led the Gulls with 13 kills, four aces and a block. Nick Hayes contributed 10 kills, six digs and a block. Mason Mallory had nine kills and two aces. Gavin Emenaker recorded 28 assists and seven digs.
 
The Bears wrap up the weekend with a noon match at NECC foe Nichols College tomorrow.
