POTSDAM, N.Y. – Each year supporters of SUNY Potsdam Athletics gave back to their favorite teams during the Bears Roaring On challenge.  Bears Roaring On is the College's annual comprehensive campaign for student-athletes and campus-wide recreation programs. Generosity from nearly 600 donors provided needed resources for varsity teams and brought new recreation activities to campus. Aiming to build on this success, the annual campaign for SUNY Potsdam Athletics will run from Monday, October 9 through Monday, October 16, 2023.
 
According to SUNY Potsdam Director of Athletics Mark Misiak, "Our Bears Roaring On campaigns thrive on the boundless generosity of our alumni, fans, and supporters. This unwavering support fuels the spirit of SUNY Potsdam Bears Athletics, propelling us forward in our relentless pursuit of playoff positions and conference titles. Together, we continue to champion the cause of our talented student-athletes, ensuring they thrive while also opening doors for all students to embrace recreational opportunities that foster health and well-being."
 
Support to individual teams during the previous campaigns helped improve equipment, uniforms, data analysis and video editing software and provided higher quality meals during travel. Support through the general funds for Athletics, Fitness Center and Intramural Sports and Recreation enhanced campus facilities, upgraded training equipment and expanded recreation activities and offerings.
 
Just like the previous year's campaign, supporters of Bears Roaring On 23-24 can contribute directly to the College's 19 varsity teams or provide broader support for the entire campus with gifts through general funds. Bears Roaring On 23-24 aims to engage at least 500 donors from the SUNY Potsdam Athletics community.
