BROCKPORT, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam track and field teams set three school records and had nine top-10 performances on Day 1 of the SUNYAC Championships at Brockport. Sophomore
Junior Oduro (Watertown, N.Y./Watertown) raised the bar in the men's 60M. Sophomore
Sam Renaud (Lagrangeville, N.Y./Trinity Pawling) did the same in the men's 400M and sophomore
Emily Yousey (Lacona, N.Y./Sandy Creek) set the record in the women's 400M.
Oduro edged his old record in the 60M by .02 to finish in 7.31 and place 17th. Renaud shaved .87 off his previous mark for time of 52.04 and finish 13th. Oduro was 18th in the 200M with Potsdam's sixth fastest time of 24.34. Sophomore
Zane Moussa recorded a distance of 12.62m in the weight throw for the Bears' sixth best mark. Junior
Timothy Petty (Highland, N.Y./Highland) is Potsdam's representative in the heptathlon. He reached a distance of 5.64m to reach sixth place in the long jump for the program's sixth best effort. Petty was seventh in the high jump with a height of 1.54m, the program's fourth best mark. He was second in the shot put with a distance of 10.96m and third in the 60M with a time of 7.57.
Yousey took .31 off her 400M time to establish Potsdam's new standard of 1:01.79 and place 10th. Freshman
Madison Wagner (Chittenango, N.Y./Chittenango) just missed her own 60M record with a time of 8.43 to finish 15th. Sophomore
Hailey von Ahn (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) was 16th in the 200M with Potsdam's ninth fastest time of 28.76.
The action resumes at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow for the final day of the championships.
