BROCKPORT, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam men's and women's track and field teams set six school records in their eight events on the final day of the SUNYAC Championships at Brockport. Junior Timothy Petty (Highland, N.Y./Highland) set three records while competing in the heptathlon. SUNY Geneseo defended its titles in both the men's and women's competitions. The Bears men ninth finished, while the women were eighth.
 
Petty topped his own mark in the 60M hurdles (10.07), while finishing ninth. He then established records in the 1000M (2:56.15) and the pole vault (2.50m), finishing third and eighth, respectively. Sophomore Sam Renaud (Lagrangeville, N.Y./Trinity-Pawling) was eighth in the 800M, qualifying for regionals with a Potsdam record time of 1:58.22. The men's 4x400 team of Renaud, junior Harper Barrett (Lowville, N.Y./Beaver River), sophomore Logan Ploss (East Greenbush, N.Y./Columbia) and freshman Eli Siracusa (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) was eighth with the program's third fastest time of 3:50.72.
 
Sophomore Emily Yousey (Lacona, N.Y./Sandy Creek) took over a second off her own 800M record to finish eighth with a time of 2:24.91. She then combined with senior Emily Ware (Massena, N.Y./Massena), sophomore Hailey von Ahn (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) and freshman Madison Wagner (Chittenango, N.Y./Chittenango) to finish sixth in the 4x400 with a program record time of 4:45.60.
 
Renaud is back in action next weekend when he heads to the All-Atlantic Region Indoor Championships.
