Track and field opens 2026 at Middlebury Invite

MIDDLEBURY, VT.—
The SUNY Potsdam track and field teams opened 2026 at the Middlebury Invitational on Saturday. The Bears posted three program top-10 performances.
 
Sophomore Makayla Farmer (Massena, N.Y./Massena) finished fifth in the women's mile with a time of 5:57.70. It's the sixth best time by a Bear in the event. She was also seventh in the 800M in 2:45.27.
 
Junior Jack Schroeder (Gouverneur, N.Y./Gouverneur) was seventh in the 500M with Potsdam's third best time of 1:28.32. Sophomore Talan Green (Canton, N.Y./Hugh C. Williams) was fifth in the high jump with the program's fourth best height of 1.77m. In the 800M, seniors Eli Siracusa (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) and (2:32.71) and Josef Kaufman (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) (2:47.46) finished sixth and seventh in the 800M, respectively. Senior Cooper Ladouceur (Canton, N.Y./Hugh C. Williams) finished ninth in the shot put with a distance of 11.59m.
 
The Bears are back in action next Friday, when they head to the Utica University Winter open.
