POTSDAM, N.Y. – Senior men's lacrosse players Rowisonkies Barnes (Akwesasne, N.Y./The Hill Academy) and Drew Costello (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Ogdensburg Free Academy) are SUNY Potsdam Athletes of the Week for the week ending March 7.

Barnes recorded 14 points on seven goals and seven assists in two games for the Bears. In a 20-3 win over Alfred State on Wednesday, the attack had a career-high ten points, scoring five goals and picking up five assists. He tallied two goals and two assists for four points in the 9-4 victory over Brockport on Saturday.

Costello set a new program record for career ground balls with 316 and counting. He was 38-41 (92.7%) in the faceoff circle between the two games, tallying 31 ground balls, two goals, and an assist. The captain was a perfect 26-26 on faceoffs against Alfred State on Wednesday, and had a goal, an assist, and 23 ground balls. In Saturday's win over Brockport, the midfielder was 12-15 on faceoffs, adding a goal and eight ground balls.
