COMPLETE RESULTS

MIDDLEBURY, VT.—The SUNY Potsdam track and field team had a strong showing at the Middlebury Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Makayla Farmer (Massena, N.Y./Massena) topped her own program record in the women's 3000M Steeplechase. Senior Emma Beecher (Lockport, N.Y./Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart) tied the Potsdam record in the women's high jump. The Bears recorded seven program top-10 performances on the day.
 
Farmer won the 3000M Steeplechase with a time of 12:22.44. She took 26.84 seconds off her old record. Beecher matched Mikayla Myers's 2022 high jump record of 1.42m, finishing fifth. Freshman Carli Knapp (Lovington, N.M./Lovington) finished second in the javelin with a distance of 34.62m, less than a meter shy of her program record.
 
Junior Samuel Barney (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Plattsburgh) was fifth in the men's 3000 Steeplechase. His time of 11.36.88 was Potsdam's fifth best in the event. Senior Zane Stevens (Chazy, N.Y./Chazy) was fourth in the javelin with the program's ninth best distance of 39.02m. Freshman Talan Green (Canton, N.Y./Hugh C. Williams) placed second in the high jump with Potsdam's fifth best height of 1.77m. The men's 4x100M relay team of senior Tristin Simmons (Morristown, N.Y./Morristown), junior Alic Rock (Keeseville, N.Y./AuSable Valley), senior Zach DeLorme (Rochester, N.Y./Irondequoit) and freshman Jadon Watts (Queens, N.Y./Queens High School of Teaching) were fourth, with Potsdam's fourth best time of 47.54.
 
The Bears wrap up the regular season next Friday when they compete at the SLU Twilight Invitational at 4 p.m.
