CANTON, N.Y.—Freshman
Carli Knapp (Lovington, N.M./Lovington) set the SUNY Potsdam women's javelin record at the St. Lawrence University Spring Break Opener on Saturday afternoon. On the day, the Bears had five program top-10 performances as the men and women finished third. Plattsburgh State won the men's meet and the host Saints claimed the women's crown.
Knapp registered a distance of 35.64m to win the women's javelin. She topped the previous mark by 11.50m and qualified for the All-Atlantic Region Championships at Ursinus College on May 13. Sophomore
Makayla Farmer (Massena, N.Y./Massena) was fourth in the 1500M with Potsdam's fifth best time of 5:20.52. Senior
Emma Beecher (Lockport, N.Y./Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart) was fourth in the high jump with the program's third best distance of 1.28m. Sophomore
Talan Green (Canton, N.Y./Hugh C. Williams) tied Potsdam's high jump mark of 1.80m to finish third in the men's event. He was also third in the triple jump with the program's third best distance of 11.47m
The Bears are back in action next Saturday when they compete at the Hamilton College Outdoor Invitational.
