POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Potsdam senior captain
Caroline Vines (Irondequoit, N.Y./Irondequoit) has been named the Spry SUNYAC Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 6.
Last week Vines led all SUNYAC goalkeepers with a .931 save percentage, 27 saves and two shutouts in a 1-1-1 week for Potsdam. She also posted a 0.67 goals-against-average. Vines made 12 saves at Russell Sage on Tuesday. She then made a career-high 14 stops in a 0-0 draw at home against Utica on Friday to earn her first career shutout. On Saturday, Vines earned her second shutout and fifth career victory in a 2-0 win over Vermont State-Johnson.
The Bears are back in action this afternoon when they head to St. Lawrence University to take on the Saints at 4 p.m.
