Steve Naughton, a 1998 men’s hockey All-American, was a four-year member of the Bears hockey team. Naughton first received conference honors as a freshman when he was named the 1995 SUNYAC Rookie of the Year. He was named to the All-SUNYAC hockey team three consecutive years from 1996 to 1998.

A member of the 1996 SUNYAC All-Tournament team, Steve Naughton was a key contributor when the Bears won their only SUNYAC Tournament championship that year. The 1997 SUNYAC Player of the Year, Naughton led the conference in scoring during the 1996-97 season with 33 points from 21 goals and 12 assists. In 1998 Naughton was again named to the SUNYAC All-Tournament team and also received Potsdam’s prestigious Maxcy-Molnar Award.

A 1998 graduate of SUNY Potsdam, Naughton holds a bachelor’s in Economics. A native of Glendale, N.Y., Naughton played Junior A hockey in Bismarck, N.D. and Sioux City, Iowa
