MIDDLEBURY, Vt.—The SUNY Potsdam men's golf team finished 21st at the Duke Nelson Invitational hosted by Middlebury College. Skidmore College won the tournament with an overall team score of 588. The Bears finished with score of 661.
Senior
Shane Laurie (Canton, N.Y./Hugh C. Williams) led Potsdam, tying for 19th overall with rounds of 77 and 76. Junior
Shawn Thomas (Alexandria Bay, N.Y./Alexandria) finished in a tie for 33rd place after a team-leading day one score of 75 and a final round mark of 80.
Freshman
Austin Pivetta (Chateaugay , N.Y./Chateaugay) finished with a two day total of 174, including an 83 today. Freshman
Matt Supernault (Massena, N.Y./N.Y.) recorded a total of 179 and senior
Adam Houmiel (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Ogdensburg Free Academy) rounded out the group with a 183.
The Bears are back in action tomorrow at 1 p.m. at the Oswego State Fall Invitational.
