OSWEGO, N.Y—The SUNY Potsdam men's golf team finished second at the 10-team Oswego State Fall Invitational this afternoon. Elmira College won the completion with a team score of 309 followed by the Bears' 318 and the host Lakers' 320.

Junior Shawn Thomas (Alexandria Bay, N.Y./Alexandria) finished tied for fourth with a score of 78. Senior Shane Laurie (Canton, N.Y./Hugh C. Williams) tied for eighth with a 79. Senior Lee Shippee (Corinth, N.Y./Corinth) tied for 14th, just a stroke back of Laurie with an 80. Junior Andrew Holmes (Fort Ann, N.Y./Fort Ann) was next, tying for 16th with an 81. Freshman Austin Pivetta (Chateaugay , N.Y./Chateaugay) shot an 89 on the afternoon.

Potsdam returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 1, when the Bears travel to Rochester for the ECAC Qualifier.
