The RPI offense slowly built momentum in the first half, while the Engineer defense smothered Potsdam. Led by two Maguire goals, the Engineers had a 5-0 halftime lead. RPI then rattled off the first six goals of the second period for an 11-0 advantage with 17:57 remaining. Wall finally got the Bears on the scoreboard with an unassisted marker at 15:42. Kaci Milligan finished with nine saves. Allie Arnal made six saves and allowed two goals in the first 47:55 to earn the win. Muryum Khalid made two saves in the next 9:13, while Erin Armarello gave up the final two goals in the last 2:52.
The Engineers outshot the Bears 30-18, though Potsdam won the ground ball battle 20-16.
The Bears are back in action tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Morrisville to take on the Mustangs in a noon contest.
