CORTLAND, N.Y.—Second ranked SUNY Cortland (12-1, 5-0 SUNYAC) opened up a big first half lead en route to a 22-1 victory over the SUNY Potsdam women's lacrosse team (4-9, 1-5) on Tuesday afternoon. Lindsay Abbott led Cortland with four goals and three assists and Maria Di Fato contributed another six points (5g, 1a). Freshman midfielder Margaret Wall scored for the Bears.

Wall struck on an assist from junior attack Denise Johns at 24:52 of the first half to cut the Red Dragon lead to 2-1, but then the Cortland offense kicked into gear. The Red Dragons closed the half on a 13-0 run and then tacked on seven more in the second 30 minutes, while shutting out Potsdam the rest of the way.

In goal, Bears senior captain Kaci Milligan allowed 16 goals and made three saves in the first 34:32, while sophomore Jen Chmiel stopped four shots and allowed six goals in the final 25:28. Cortland's Shauna Hutchinson earned the victory with one save and one goal allowed in 47:28. Courtney Morgan closed out the game for the Red Dragons without facing a shot in the last 12:32.

Potsdam looks to rebound on Saturday, April 21, when the Bears travel to Buffalo State for a 1 p.m. showdown with the Bengals.
