Meaghan Paige (Carthage, N.Y./Carthage) had the Bears up 2-1 early. However, the Colonels battled back and took a 6-3 break into the half.
Potsdam made a second half push and regained the lead at 10-9 with four minutes left. Again, Curry answered and took the 11-10 advantage with a minute to go. The Bears got the ball back and successfully cleared it with time running down, but couldn't get the equalizer.
Juniors
Ashley Burrowes (Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood) and
Alli Stark (Walworth, N.Y./ Gananda) each contributed a goal and an assist. Junior midfielder
Alexa Ferrer (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) also netted a goal. Potsdam was three-for-five on free-position attempts on the afternoon.
The Bears are back in action tomorrow afternoon in Hilton Head when they take on Husson College at 12:30 p.m.
