Box Score HILTON HEAD, S.C.—Led by senior captain Cayla O'Connor's (Dexter, N.Y./General Brown) four goals, the SUNY Potsdam women's lacrosse team (2-3) overpowered Husson College (0-2) 13-2 on Thursday afternoon. Sophomore midfielder Zoe Morgenroth (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) scored three goals, while junior attacks Miranda Kolb (Watertown, N.Y./Immaculate Heart) and Alli Stark (Walworth, N.Y./Gananda) each had a goal and two assists. Junior midfielder Alexa Ferrer (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) also scored twice.
 
The Bears raced out to a 6-0 lead over the first 15:52, with O'Connor netting the first three. Stark assisted on O'Connor's second and Kolb on the third. Morgenroth buried a free-position goal at 20:52 and Stark scored at 18:55. O'Connor then completed the run with her fourth at 16:08 with an assist from freshman midfielder Calena Rodriguez (Albany, N.Y./Albany). After the Eagles finally got on the board, Ferrer countered at 7:08 and senior captain Meaghan Paige (Carthage, N.Y./Carthage) set up Morgenroth's second tally with 2:21 left. Potsdam led 8-1 at the half.
 
Kolb assisted on Morgenroth's third to open the scoring in the second half at 24:28. Ferrer added another at 23:30 and sophomore midfielder Keira Thacker (Oakville, N.Y./T.A. Blakelock) made the most of a free-position opportunity at 22:36 to cap the three-goal stretch in a 1:52 span. After Husson scored its final goal, Potsdam closed out the contest with two final markers. Freshman Macy Reid (Buffalo, N.Y./Orchard Park) struck at 11:43 with a helper from Stark and Kolb made the most of a free-position chance at 7:24.
 
Senior goalie Katie Longamore (Dexter, N.Y./General Brown) made five saves for the win.
 
The Bears return home on Tuesday for their first two straight home games of the season. They host SUNY Poly at 4 p.m. on Tuesday and Morrisville State at the same time on Wednesday.
