Box Score 2 BROCKPORT, N.Y.-- The SUNY Potsdam softball team (8-26, 1-15 SUNYAC) split with the College of Brockport (12-20, 3-13) on Thursday afternoon. The Golden Eagles won game one in walk-off fashion 7-6, while the Bears took game two 5-2 with a three-run third inning. Junior captain
Lucy Condon (Kitchener, Ontario/St. David Catholic) went 4-for-7 on the day with five RBI. Freshman left fielder
Vanessa Brandt (Saugerties, N.Y./Saugerties) went 4-for-8 with two runs scored.
Potsdam ended the scoreless tie in the first of game one. Senior captain
Brooke Falsion (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport) started off with a single and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from Brandt. Falsion advanced to third on a passed ball and scored on Condon's at-bat. Â
The Golden Eagles tied it up in the bottom of the second after Kacie Hubbard singled up the middle to score Morgan Flamholtz.
Brockport took their first lead in the third after scoring three. Meghan Cullen started the inning off with a double and scored the go-ahead run after Casey Danko singled. Two batters later, Flamholtz hit a two-run home run giving Brockport a 4-1 lead. Â
The lead did not last long as the Bears tied it after scoring three in the fourth. Sophomore catcher
Shelby Van Epps (Ballston Lake, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) began the two-out rally with a double to right center. Freshman designated hitter
Abby Vaughn (Apalachin, N.Y./Owego Free Academy) continued the rally by working a walk. Freshman first baseman
Claire Donaldson (Lisbon, N.Y./Lisbon) brought in Van Epps with a double to left. Sophomore right fielder
Jen Darlak (Lockport, N.Y./Wilson) scored Vaughn and Donaldson with a single up the middle.  Â
Potsdam started the fifth inning by getting the bases loaded. Brandt singled to left and moved to second after Condon walked. Junior pitcher
Megan Fish moved everyone over a base with a single down the left field line. The Bears took advantage of a Golden Eagle error and scored one. Brockport's defense stepped up and ended the inning with three straight outs, keeping the one run deficit.Â
The Golden Eagles hit into a double play in the fifth before hitting back to back home runs. Jessica Koneski was the first to go over the fence, and was followed up by Flamholtz as they took a 6-5 lead. Â
Potsdam began another two-out rally in the sixth. Brandt singled up the middle and stole second to get in scoring position. Condon brought in Brandt with a single to right center.Â
With a tied game and one out until extras, Brockports' Koneski doubled to right center. After Flamholtz walked, Missavage singled down the right field line to score Koneski and win game one, 7-6.
Flamholtz led the Golden Eagles, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and three runs scored. Koneski, Danko and Hubbard had two hits apiece. Koneski and Danko each had an RBI and scored a run, while Hubbard had an RBI. Â
Brandt was 2-for-4 with two runs scored for Potsdam. Van Epps was 2-for-4 with one run scored. Condon and Darlak each had a hit and two RBI.Â
Megan Van Dorn got a no decision after pitching six innings, allowing five earned runs on 10 hits and striking out one. Julia Palopoli got the win after pitching one inning, allowing one hit and striking out one. Fish (3-10) received the loss after pitching a complete game, allowing six earned runs on 11 hits and striking out three.Â
Game two was slower paced in comparison. After two scoreless innings, both teams put up two runs in the third. Falsion hit a one-out single to second base. Brandt advanced Falsion to third with a single to shortstop. Condon brought Falsion across home with a bunt. Two batters later, Van Epps singled to right field and scored Condon. Danko started the Golden Eagles off with a double to left center. Koneski then tied it with one swing of the bat, tying the game at two. Â
Potsdam kept the bats swinging in the fourth. Donaldson singled down the left field line and moved to second after Vaughn hit it through the left side gap. Darlak scored junior pinch runner

Faith Ocampo (Bronx, N.Y./Fannie Lou Hammer Freedom) and Darlak with a double to right center.Â
The Bears used solid defense for the last few innings and took game two, 5-2.
Koneski went 1-for-4 with two RBI while Cullen went 3-for-4.
Condon went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Donaldson went 3-for-3, while Falsion and Brandt went 2-for-4. Â
