Kelly and Johnson opened the scoring with a pair of layups to give Potsdam a 4-0 lead in the first 2:20. The Lakers responded with the next eight points and 15 of the next 18 to lead 15-7 at 13:01. Oswego guard Devin Green (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) hit three 3-pointers during the run. Potsdam then answered with an 11-2 run of its own. Junior forward

Oswego countered with a 12-3 run and regained a 29-20 lead at 7:28. Dante Viskovich (Massena, N.Y./Massena) got the Bears within 33-27 with 4:28 left in the half. The Lakers grew their advantage as they headed into the break, finishing the period on a 7-2 run and taking a 40-29 advantage into the locker room.
Oswego continued to pull away in the second half. A layup for Sparks at 12:11 gave the Lakers their biggest lead of the game at 59-40. On the ropes, Potsdam fought its way back into the contest with an 18-6 run. Kelly sparked the run with back-to-back 3-pointers. He added another during the stretch. Viskovich also hit a three and Johnson had six points, including a layup at 7:08 to get the Bears within 65-58. Oswego survived the burst with some clutch shots and foul shooting, scoring the last 11 points of the contest.
Crittendon led the Lakers with 17 points and five boards. Junior forward Jamal Achille (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's) scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Sparks finished with 12 points and nine rebounds.
The Bears look bounce back tomorrow when they host SUNY Cortland at 4 p.m.
