POTSDAM, N.Y.—Senior men's swimmer
Ryan Hagadorn (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) and junior women's hockey player
Kaylee Merrill (Wasilla, Alaska, N.Y./Anchorage North Stars) have been named SUNY Potsdam Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 20.
Hagadorn finished his swimming career with the Bears strongly as he earned All-SUNYAC status in the men's 200 Breaststroke on the final day of the SUNYAC Swimming and Diving Championships. Hagadorn finished third in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:06.58. He also finished in solid times in the 50 Freestyle (21.40) and 200 yard Breaststroke (57.20) as he came in fourth for both races. Hagadorn eclipsed Richie Zimmerman's 2014 Potsdam record in the 100 Breaststroke with a preliminary time of 56.92. Saturday was the second time in his career that he earned all-conference honors.
Merrill was a vital part of the women's hockey's tightly contested game against Oswego State last Tuesday. Merrill scored both goals of the game in the second period as they fell to the Lakers. Merrill is having a career year with 14 goals and six assists for 20 points, leading the Bears.
