Box Score HILTON HEAD, S.C.—Alfred University (2-0) outlasted the SUNY Potsdam women's lacrosse team (0-1) 21-19 in the Bears' season opener. Junior attack Hannah Stevenson (Canton, N.Y./Hugh C. Williams) doubled her previous personal best with a career-high 10 points on six goals and four assists. Fellow junior attack Anita Reitano (Averill Park, N.Y./Averill Park) also established a new career-high of seven points on five goals and two assists. Sophomore midfielder Lindsey LaDue (Massena, N.Y./Massena) was the third Bear to have a career day with four goals and two assists for six points.
 
Junior attack Julia Blair (Massena, N.Y./Massena), freshman attack Mallory Marks (Brownville, N.Y./General Brown), senior defender Kerry Mayette (Madrid, N.Y./Madrid-Waddington) and senior attack Macy Reid (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) each had a goal apiece. Freshman midfielder Allie Pohl (Burnt Hills, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) added an assist. In her collegiate debut, senior goalie Rachel Orzel (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) made six saves.
 
The Bears are back in action on Wednesday at 10 a.m. when they take on Nichols College in Hilton Head.
