UXBRIDGE, UNITED KINGDOM—Former SUNY Potsdam men's basketball standout
Danny Delsol-Lowry '20 has signed on with the Thames Valley Cavaliers of the National Basketball League – Division I (NBLD1) in Great Britain.
Delsol-Lowry, who has dual U.K.-U.S. citizenship, left for Britain this spring after serving as a Bears assistant coach and Potsdam admissions counselor for the last two years. The Cavaliers finished second in the NBLD1 in 2021-22 with a 20-6 record, reaching the league semifinals before bowing to the Hemel Storm.
Delsol-Lowry played four years with Potsdam helping them from just three wins in his freshman campaign to 20 wins and a berth in the SUNYAC Championship as a senior. He is the 22nd Bear to reach 1,000 points and ranks 19th in program history in scoring with 1,119 points. The guard also ranks fifth as a Bear in steals (169), seventh in 3-pointers made (141) and 10th in assists (293). He was selected third team All-SUNYAC in his final season. The Queens native was also Potsdam's MVP and Newcomer of the Year in 2017.
Delsol-Lowry is the all-time leading scorer at Queens High School of Teaching and led the PSAL in free-throw shooting in 2014. He also participated in the 2016 Wheelchair Classic and Mayor's Cup.
Delsol-Lowry graduated from SUNY Potsdam in 2020 with a degree in speech communications and a minor in fitness.
The NBLD1 regular season begins in October and runs through March.
