Lauren Bruce has announced that former Bears women's captain
Kerry Mayette '22 will serve as her assistant for the upcoming 2023 season. Mayette replaces previous assistant Sam Mace '20.
Mayette played four seasons for the Bears and was the captain of the women's lacrosse team her senior season. In 45 career games, Mayette recorded five goals and five assists for a total of 10 points.
The Madrid native and Madrid-Waddington graduate served as senior camp counselor at the CAN/AM Hockey Camp in Lake Placid where she maintained the weekly scheduling of on and off ice activities. Mayette was also employed as event staff with SUNY Potsdam's Athletic Department, where she worked alongside the facilities coordinator by assisting with crowd management at home sporting events.
The Bears were 7-9 in the spring, matching the program single season record for wins. The team rewrote its offensive record book. Its 311 points on 210 goals and 101 assists are all single-season records. The Bears also collected 211 draw controls to set another program mark and caused 152 turnovers for the second-best season total.
Mayette graduated from Potsdam in May with a degree in speech communications.
