POTSDAM, N.Y.— Six SUNY Potsdam male student-athletes have been selected to the College Sports Communicators At-Large Academic All-District Team. The teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom. Men's hockey players
Michael Campbell (Toronto, Ontario/Jersey Whalers USPHL),
Jakub Hall (Anchorage, Alaska/Richmond Generals USPHL) and
Drew Rose (Brasher Falls, N.Y./Utica Jr. Comets NCDC) each earn spots. Rose also represents the men's lacrosse team along with
Alex Farben-Griggs (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) and
Ryan Hughes (Corning, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post). Men's volleyball player
Jack Orrange (North Tonawanda, N.Y./North Tonawanda) completes the list.
To be eligible for nomination, athletes need to maintain at least a 3.5 GPA, be a sophomore and have participated in at least 90 percent of their team's contests or started in 66 percent.
Campbell, a junior defenseman and captain, played in all 26 games for the Bears this season. He racked up 11 points on one goal and 10 assists. In the three years with the Bears, the defenseman has 29 points with four goals and 25 assists in 72 games.
Hall, a sophomore forward, played in every contest this season, tallying 10 points with six goals and four assists. In two seasons, he has 19 points with 11 goals and eight assists in 52 games.
Rose captained the hockey team for the second time and was a key to the men's lacrosse midfield again this year. On the ice, the senior played in every game, recording four points with a pair of goals and assists. In four seasons, he's recorded 34 points on 12 goals and 22 assists in 96 games. On the turf, he played in 14 games with 13 starts, scoring 18 goals with 13 assists for 31 points. In his lacrosse career, he played in 57 games, registering 76 goals and 45 assists for 121 points. He also scooped up 68 ground balls and caused eight turnovers.
Farben-Griggs, a junior defenseman, played in all of the lacrosse team's 15 games this season with 14 starts. He recorded two goals and one assist for three points. He also gathered 38 ground balls with 12 caused turnovers. For his three seasons, Farben-Griggs accumulated four points with a pair of goals and assists in 38 games. He also has 67 ground balls and 20 caused turnovers.
Hughes, a senior midfielder, played in every game, starting in 13 in 2025. He tallied 11 goals and 14 assists for 25 points with 25 ground balls. In his career, he has 42 goals and 37 assists for 79 points along with 57 ground balls.
Orrange, a sophomore middle hitter for the men's volleyball team, totaled 99 digs, 10 kills, nine assists, three blocks and two service aces this season. In two seasons, he has 127 digs, 23 kills, 18 assists and 11 service aces. Orrange was named to the All-New England Volleyball Conference's Sportsmanship team this Spring.
