POTSDAM, N.Y. – Junior men's hockey goaltender
Lenny Perno (Rochester, N.Y./Richmond Generals) has been named the SUNYAC Goalie of the Week for the week ending January 10.
Perno was crucial in the Bears' SUNYAC sweep over the weekend, making 58 saves and allowing only two goals in two games. He earned a .967 save percentage, a 1.00 goals-against-average, and his first shutout of the season. In a come-from-behind 4-2 win over Buffalo State on Friday, the goaltender stopped 26 shots. He recorded another 32 saves against Fredonia, leading the Bears to a 1-0 shutout victory, the fourth of his career. The goaltender is currently third in the SUNYAC in saves made with 176 and ninth in save percentage at .912.
Perno and the Bears are back in action at Skidmore this Friday, January 16, at 7 p.m. and at Plattsburgh on Saturday, January 17, at 7 p.m.
