POTSDAM, N.Y. – Junior men's hockey goaltender Lenny Perno (Rochester, N.Y./Richmond Generals) and sophomore swimmer Katherine Steeves (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston) have been named SUNY Potsdam Athletes of the Week for the week ending January 10.

Perno was crucial in the Bears' SUNYAC sweep over the weekend, making 58 saves and allowing only two goals in two games. He earned a .967 save percentage, a 1.00 goals-against-average, and his first shutout of the season. In a come-from-behind 4-2 win over Buffalo State on Friday, the goaltender stopped 26 shots. He recorded another 32 saves against Fredonia, leading the Bears to a 1-0 shutout victory, the fourth of his career.

Steeves recorded two first-place finishes in individual events and a second-place relay finish during Friday's meet versus Saint Michael's College. She came first in the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:22.32 and in the 100 Butterfly, finishing in 1:03.56. In the 200 Medley Relay, her foursome claimed second place in 2:05.59.
