Rowisonkies Barnes (Akwesasne, N.Y./The Hill Academy) has been named the conference's offensive player of the week and freshman defender
Damyn LeClair (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) earns defensive player of the week honors.
Barnes had 14 points in two wins for the Bears. He recorded a career-high 10 points on five goals and five assists in a 20-3 win over Alfred State on Wednesday. Barnes added two goals and two assists in a 9-4 victory over Brockport on Saturday. The attackman is currently fifth in the conference in scoring with 16 points on nine goals and seven assists in three contests.
LeClair continued to be a defensive force just three contests into his collegiate career. In last week's games he caused 12 turnovers and collected 14 ground balls. Against Alfred State, the freshman caused eight turnovers and picked up 12 ground balls. He caused four more turnovers and had two ground balls in Potsdam's win against Brockport on Saturday. LeClair leads the conference with 18 caused turnovers in three games and is third in ground balls with 22.
The Bears (3-0) are back in action on Saturday when they host Hartwick College at 1 p.m.
