POTSDAM, N.Y.—The third-seeded SUNY Potsdam men's lacrosse team (10-4, 5-2 SUNYAC) travels to second-seeded SUNY Oneonta (9-7, 6-1 SUNYAC) for the SUNYAC Semifinals on Wednesday, April 29. Game time is 3 p.m.
Potsdam is making its 19th postseason appearance and second straight under second-year head coach
Gill Conners. The Bears have advanced to the SUNYAC Championship twice in program history, in 2011 and 2024. Potsdam enters the tournament with the fourth-ranked offense in the conference with 11.86 goals-per-game, while ranking second in goals-against-average at 8.36. The Bears have won five consecutive contests heading into Wednesday's matchup.

Billy Kozloski (Johnson City, N.Y./Johnson City) and senior attackman
Rowisonkies Barnes (Akwesasne, N.Y./The Hill Academy) have powered the Bears offense all season. Kozloski leads the team with 41 goals and 19 assists for 60 points in 14 contests, with three game-winning goals. Barnes is right behind him with 36 goals and 20 assists for 56 points, also with three game-winning goals in 14 games. Sophomore attackman
Braydon Goddard (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) rounds out the top three with 22 goals and 19 assists for 41 points along with 39 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers in 14 games.

Ronin Oakes (Hogansburg, N.Y./Massena) has contributed 15 goals and five assists for 20 points. Sophomore midfielder
Preston Daniels (Peru, N.Y./Peru) has 11 goals and eight assists for 19 points along with 14 ground balls and six caused turnovers. Junior captain
Morgan Fox (Clayton, N.Y./Thousand Islands) has tallied eight goals and seven assists for 15 points in 13 games. Senior midfielder
Drew Costello (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Ogdensburg Free Academy) brings six goals and four assists to go along with his dominant work at the faceoff X. He has gone 229-for-313 on faceoff attempts for a .732 winning percentage and 157 ground balls. The 2025 All-SUNYAC captain ranks ninth in the nation in faceoff winning percentage and leads the conference in the same category as well as faceoffs won.

Damyn LeClair (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus), who has been one of the most disruptive players in all of Division III this season. LeClair leads the SUNYAC with 53 caused turnovers and is second with 80 ground balls. He is also third in the nation with 3.69 caused turnovers-per-game. Senior defender
Alex Farben-Griggs (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) has continued to be a force on the back end, piling up 68 ground balls and 29 caused turnovers in all 14 contests. Senior captain and midfielder
Tommy Storrin (Brasher Falls, N.Y./St. Lawrence Central) adds 12 caused turnovers and 21 ground balls. Senior defender
Grayson Jackson (Carthage, N.Y./Carthage) has 18 ground balls and five caused turnovers, while junior defender
Skylar Running Rabbit (Siksika, Alberta/Strathmore) has contributed 10 ground balls and three caused turnovers. Senior defender
Ryan Wassmer (Patchogue, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) has 41 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers in 13 games.
Senior goalie
Saka Thompson (Akwesasne, N.Y./Salmon River), the 2024 All-American, has been outstanding in goal for the Bears once again. Thompson has posted a 10-4 record with a goals-against average of 8.45 and a .598 save percentage, having turned aside 168 shots in 802 minutes of action. He is the program's all-time wins leader with 25.
The Red Dragons
Oneonta enters the tournament having won three consecutive contests and with the second-best record in conference play at 6-1. The Red Dragons are in the SUNYAC playoffs for a second straight year under ninth-year head coach Pete Owens. The Red Dragons boast the conference's second best offense with 14.31 goals-per-game and have the fifth best goals-against-average at 12.10.
Junior attackman Thomas Hnis (Smithtown, N.Y./Kings Park) has been the second most prolific scorer in the SUNYAC this season with 87 points. He leads the conference with 65 goals. On Saturday, senior attackman Jamie O'Neil (Bath, N.Y./Haverling) became the conference's all-time career points leader. He leads the conference with 52 assists and has 31 goals for 83 points in 16 games. Junior attackman Aidan Boyle (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) has contributed 27 goals and 12 assists for 39 points in 16 contests.
Freshman attackman Ryan Babikian (Jamesville, N.Y./Jamesville-Dewitt) has had a strong first season with 20 goals and one assist for 21 points in 13 games. Senior midfielder Daniel Macchiarella (Guilderland, N.Y./Guilderland) and junior midfielder Finn Morris (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach) have 19 and 18 points, respectively. Sophomore midfielder Riley Royals has chipped in 13 goals and two assists for 15 points.
Senior long-stick midfielder Aidan Greene (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown West) leads the defense with 52 ground balls and 26 caused turnovers in 14 games. Senior long-stick midfielder Hunter Busch (Babylon, N.Y./Babylon) has added 21 ground balls and 25 caused turnovers. Junior defender Trey Fee (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) and junior long-stick midfielder Johnny Terrana (St. James, N.Y./Smithtown East) have combined for 35 ground balls and 29 caused turnovers. At the faceoff X, junior Nathan Nurse (Brooklyn, N.Y./Uncommon Collegiate Charter) and sophomore Sean Grimes (Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y./Croton Harmon) share duties, combining to go 249-for-472 on faceoff attempts for a .528 winning percentage.
Sophomore goalie Mark Restivo (Merrick, N.Y./Sanford H. Calhoun) has been the backbone of the Red Dragon defense this season. Restivo has started 15 games and posted an 8-7 record with 182 saves, a 12.69 G.A.A. and a .532 save percentage.
Last Meeting
The two teams met earlier this season on March 28 in Oneonta, with the Red Dragons edging the Bears 12-11 in a thrilling contest. Hnis recorded six goals and three assists for nine points to lead Oneonta, while O'Neil added four assists. Kozloski led the Bears with three goals and five assists for eight points and Barnes scored five goals with one assist. Potsdam dominated faceoffs 17-8, but Oneonta outscored the Bears 5-4 in the fourth quarter to claim the victory. Restivo made 13 saves in goal for the Red Dragons, while Thompson turned aside nine shots for Potsdam.
This contest marks the two programs' first ever meeting in the postseason.
Tickets and Game Coverage
Tickets for the contest are $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 5-12. Children ages 4 and under are free, as are students from SUNYAC institutions with school ID.
