Five Bears named AHCA Krampade All-American Scholars

POTSDAM, N.Y.—Five members of the SUNY Potsdam women's hockey team have been named American Hockey Coaches Association Krampade All-American Scholars for the 2025-26 season. To be eligible for the honor, student-athletes need to earn a 3.75 GPA in both semesters and had to appear in at least 40 percent of their team's contests.
 
Junior forward Jalynn Castro (Dexter, N.Y./Syracuse Valley Eagles) is a dual business administration and finance major. This season she broke out with a career-high 18 points on 11 goals and seven assists to lead the team, while playing in all 26 games. She had four game-winning goals. Castro has scored 22 goals and assisted on 11 for 33 points in 73 career contests.
 
Senior captain Magalie Parent (Trois-Rivières, Quebec/Les Diablos – Cégep de Trois-Rivières) is a senior business administration major. In February she was named the SUNYAC Goalie of the Year and first team all-conference. In May, she was named SUNY Potsdam's Female Athlete of the Year. Parent had a 10-9-2 record in 23 games, with 22 starts, tying Potsdam's single-season wins record. She had a career-best 2.06 goals-against-average, a .935 save percentage and recorded four shutouts, a program single-season record. Parent was named the SUNYAC Goaltender of the Week three times in the 2025-26 campaign, finishing sixth in G.A.A, fourth in save percentage, third in wins and first in saves (659) in the conference. Parent completed her career with 17 wins, the third most wins in program history. She is also second in saves (1598) and G.A.A. (2.13). She holds Potsdam's records in save percentage (.935) and shutouts (7).
 
Senior defenseman Victoria Proulx (Rockford, Ontario/Post University) is a Biology major. She played in all 26 games for the Bears this season, registering three points on a goal and two assists. In her three campaigns in Potsdam, she has totaled two goals and nine assists for 11 points in 73 contests.
 
Sophomore defenseman Ryanne Rathburn (North Syracuse, N.Y./Hoosac School) is an exercise science major. She played in 22 games this winter. Rathburn has seen action in 35 games with the Bears in two seasons.
 
Freshman forward Marissa Whiteside (Long Sault, Ontario/Cornwall Lady Royals) is also an exercise science major. She played in every contest this season, scoring two goals and assisting on another.
 
The Bears went 11-13-2 in 2025-26, including a 6-7-1 mark in the SUNYAC. Potsdam shut out conference runner-up SUNY Cortland on the final day of the regular season to clinch its first playoff berth in four years.
