POTSDAM, N.Y. – Senior women's hockey goaltender
Magalie Parent (Trois-Rivières, Quebec / Les Diablos – Cégep de Trois-Rivières) has been named SUNYAC Women's Ice Hockey Goaltender of the Week for the week ending November 8. It's the third time Parent has earned the honor. She also claimed the award on February 12, 2024 and December 9, 2024.
Parent was instrumental in the Bears' split with No. 12 Elmira College last weekend. The goaltender recorded 74 saves and a shutout across the two contests. She compiled a 1.50 goals-against-average and a .961 save percentage. On Friday, she stopped 39 of 42 shots faced in a 3-1 defeat. Saturday's rematch saw Parent make another 35 saves, 17 of which came in the third period, as the Bears shut out the Soaring Eagles for a 1-0 upset.
Parent and the Bears are back in action Friday, November 14, at 7 p.m. as they open SUNYAC play against the Buffalo State Bengals in Maxcy Ice Arena.
