POTSDAM, N.Y. – Junior women's hockey player
Jalynn Castro (Dexter, N.Y./Syracuse Valley Eagles) has been named the SUNYAC women's ice hockey player of the week for the week ending January 17.
Castro picked up four points in two games against Chatham University over the weekend, recording three goals and one assist. In Friday's 2-2 tie, she netted both Bears' goals. In Saturday's 3-2 victory, the forward assisted on the first goal and scored the game-winner in overtime. She currently leads Potsdam in goals (7), assists (5), and points (12). Castro ranks third overall in points and in goals in the SUNYAC.
Castro and the Bears take the ice against the Oswego State Lakers this Friday at 3 p.m. and Route 11 Rivals, the SUNY Canton Kangaroos, Saturday at 3 p.m, both at home.
