POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Potsdam sophomore men's lacrosse player has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference's Defensive Athlete of the Week.
 
Thompson made a career-high 21 saves in a 13-3 victory at Utica University on Wednesday. The win was Potsdam's first of the season and his third career victory.
 
The Bears are back in action on Saturday, when they host SUNY Poly in their home opener at 1 p.m.
