POTSDAM, N.Y.- Three SUNY Potsdam swimmers have been named to the College Sports Communicators Swimming and Diving Academic All-District team. The all-district team recognizes the nation's top student athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom.

To be eligible for this honor, swimmers need to have maintained at least a 3.5 GPA and compete in at least five competitions or finish top eight at a conference meet.

Sasha Truax (New Lebanon, N.Y./New Lebanon) is a senior double majoring in Psychology and Music Education. Truax competed in all nine meets for the Bears this season. This is the third straight season Truax has earned the honor.

Kathryn Nelson (Riverside, R.I./St. Mary Academy-Bay View) is a junior dual-majoring in Archeological Studies and Anthropology and minoring in Forensic Studies. Nelson saw action in eight meets this season. She was also academic all-district last season.

Nataelee Mullen (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) is a sophomore majoring in Early Childhood Education. Mullen is
a first-time recipient of this award and competed in every meet this season.

The swimming and diving teams finished their season on February 22 at the SUNYAC Championships. The women's team placed eighth and the men's team placed ninth while establishing program records and picking up an All-SUNYAC selection.
