Six Bears Men named to CSC At-Large Academic All-District Team

POTSDAM, N.Y.—Six SUNY Potsdam student-athletes earned spots on the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Men's At-Large Academic All-District Team. The team is selected by CSC member directors of athletic communications to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the game and in the classroom. The at-large category includes multiple sports. Senior defenseman Michael Campbell (Toronto, Ontario/Jersey Whalers) and junior forward Jakub Hall (Anchorage, Alaska/Richmond Generals) represent the men's hockey team on the list. Senior defender Alex Farben-Griggs (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) and senior midfielder Jakob Lynch (Alexandria Bay, N.Y./Alexandria) are the men's lacrosse players on the team. Senior middle hitter Mike Kilinski (Greenfield Center, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) and junior setter Alex Lombardo (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) represent the men's volleyball team.
 
To be eligible for nomination, athletes need to maintain at least a 3.5 GPA, be a sophomore and have participated in at least 90 percent of their team's contests or started in 66 percent.
 
Campbell, an exercise science major, is making his third straight appearance on the academic all-district team. He played in all 25 contests for the Bears this season, recording two goals and six assists for eight points. In his four seasons, Campbell totaled six goals and 31 assists for 37 points in 97 games.  
 
Hall, a dual business and accounting major, has earned academic all-district honors for the second season in a row. He matched a career-high 10 points on seven goals and three assists this winter, while competing in 23 games. Hall has 18 goals and 11 assists for 29 points in 75 career contest.
 
Farben-Griggs, a business administration major, was also academic all-district a year ago. He was named to the All-SUNYAC second team on May 6 and competed in the USILA Senior All-Star Game on May 22. Farben-Griggs proved himself to be an elite defender again this season. His 31 caused turnovers were second on the team and third most in the conference. The senior was also third on the team and sixth in the SUNYAC in ground balls with 70. Farben-Griggs created an impact offensively as well, scoring eight goals and assisting on four. In four seasons, he compiled 51 caused turnovers, 137 ground balls, 10 goals and six assists while starting 41 of his 53 contests. He ranks fourth in career caused turnovers in program history.
 
In addition to academic all-district, Lynch was named SUNY Potsdam's Male Maxcy/Molnar Award Winner at the annual Maxcy Awards Banquet on May 7. The award goes to senior student-athlete who best combines the qualities of sportsmanship, leadership and athletic achievement. Lynch played in all 15 games for the men's lacrosse team this season, helping the Bears to their third straight playoff appearance. The business administration major totaled 19 ground balls, three caused turnovers, two goals and five assists. Potsdam's captain competed in every one of his team's 61 contests in his four seasons, compiling three goals, nine assists, 98 ground balls and 20 caused turnovers.
 
Kilinski, a business major, led the men's volleyball team with 67 total blocks, ranked third in kills (144) and second in service aces (17). The middle blocker led the NEVC in hitting percentage (.370), just shy of his own single-season Potsdam record. He was fourth in total blocks and third blocks-per-set (0.89) in the conference. Kilinski holds the program record for career hitting percentage (.374), all-time blocks-per-set (0.77), and is fourth in career blocks (115).
 
Lombardo, an environmental science major, led the NEVC in assists-per-set with a career-high 9.37, recording a team-best 684 assists in 19 matches this season. He ranked second on the team in digs (125), third in service aces (15) and fourth in total blocks (18). The setter holds the all-time assists record for the Bears with 1720 and is second in career assists-per-set (6.96).
