Bio from Induction
In two seasons of Varsity baseball, Ed posted five Potsdam college batting records, while leading the team in many other hitting and fielding categories.
A 6’1” right handed hitter, Ed consistently hit the long ball. Not only was he a very aggressive hitter, Ed was adept at many fielding positions. Ed’s speed enabled him to become an excellent outfielder, though he did a few games at third base.
The end of Ed’s sophomore year marked the beginning of his professional baseball career. Husted signed with the Chicago Cubs organization where he played minor League ball for two years. He returned to Potsdam during the offseason to finish his musical education and become Potsdam’s Assistant Baseball Coach.
