Records are made be broken, but no one has touched Larry Darden’s Potsdam basketball rebounding marks yet. No one’s even come close.
Darden came to Potsdam College from Jefferson Couny Community College in 1970 and made an immediate impact on the Bears basketball team. During his senior season, Larry was co-captain of Potsdam’s 22-2 team. That club ended the season with a 14-game winning streak.
His 27 rebounds in a game against Clarkson on Dec. 1, 1971 and his 329 rebounds in the 1971-72 season are both Potsdam records.
A 1972 graduate, Darden was Dean of Students at Mater Christi High School in New York City, before going into private industry.
Potsdam College is proud to induct Larry Darden into its Sports Hall of Fame.
