During his career at Potsdam College, Steve Carr contributed a great deal to both the wrestling and lacrosse programs. He was a four-year starter and leading member of the wrestling team, qualifying for the NCAA Tournament in all four years. Carr went on to capture the New York Sate Championship his senior year, and was named All-New York State and All-SUNYAC three times.
Steve was also a prominent member of the Potsdam lacrosse team and was team captain in 1978-79.
Carr was an outstanding student as well as athlete. He graduated from Potsdam in 1979 and later earned his law degree cum laude form Whittier College of Law in Los Angeles, Calif.
He is now an associate member of a large firm in Miami, Fla. To occupy his spare time, Carr coached the University of Miami lacrosse club in 1985.
Steve married the former Linda Manley, also a 1979 graduate of Potsdam College, and they have two children.
It is with great pleasure that Potsdam College inducts Steve Carr into its Sports Hall of Fame.
