Hall of Fame
Tim Hennessey, a 1960 Potsdam graduate, was a member of the college’s first varsity soccer team in 1958 and played the following year for Coach Bon Serfis. He also played basketball and was nicknamed the “Three Second Terror.”
Active in all areas of college life, Hennessy was the sophomore class vice president and the junior class president. He received his master’s in elementary supervision and administration from Potsdam.
After graduation, Hennessey quickly established himself as a top soccer coach in the Colton-Pierrpont School District. His teams have posted a record of 361-116-35 in 25 years, and earned three Class D titles and three Section 10 championships.
He was the Section 10 soccer chairman for 13 years and a member of the Northern New York Soccer Officials and the New York State Soccer committees. Presently, Hennessey is the supervisor for the Town of Colton.
It is with great honor that Potsdam College inducts Tim Hennessey into the Sports Hall of Fame.
