The drive to play motivated Wesley Bradley in high school and college, and the burning desire to continue to pass that feeling on to the youth of today has kept him active as a coach and recreation coordinator.

Bradley has become synonymous with burgeoning programs and helping them achieve greatness first as a soccer player, and more recently as a soccer coach and program coordinator.

A graduate of Canton High School, Bradley was a member of the school’s inaugural boys soccer team during his sophomore year.  During his time at Canton he also played basketball, baseball and track, but it was soccer as a goaltender that he quickly excelled at.

A three-year member of Potsdam’s varsity team, he was an outstanding player for the Bears and was named team captain his senior year.

Not only was he a star on the field, but he was a leader off the field , in the classroom and campus- wide. Among his many activities, h served as senior class vice president during the 1969-70 school year, was a resident assistant for two years and was a founding member of the Order of Prometheus. In 1970 he was the co-winner of the Outstanding Teacher Award and was selected Outstanding Senior Male for the Class of 1970. He was recognized off campus as well, being named Potsdam’s first-ever recipient of the Chancellor’s Award for Scholar-Athletes in 1970.

Since his graduation from Potsdam, Bradley has been a science teacher for the last 20 years at Lyndonville Junior-Senior High School. He began coaching varsity boys soccer at Lyndonville in 1976 and has three times been named regional Coach of the Year. He has also been coaching girls softball since 1988.

Bradley is also extremely active in youth soccer programs, and has helped his local program grow from 115 participants to nearly 600.
