Joe Galea

Joe Galea was a wrestler of many achievements. In the 1974-75 season, he was a national Division III runner-up, earning All-American honors. In addition, Galea was a four-time Northern New York Tournament champion, a SUNYAC champion and a two-time New York State Tournament runner-up.
        
After graduating from Potsdam in 1976, Galea received his master’s in international economics from Albany State. He then worked at McGraw-Hill for six months and then at Merrill-Lynch for 2 1/2 years. He is now manager of Finance and Forecasting for AT&T International.
            
Galea has coaching experience as an assistant at Albany State while earning his master’s, and as coach of the Basking Ridge (N.J.) Junior High wrestling squad. In 1978, Galea coached the New Jersey Central Regional wrestling team on a two-week trip to Japan.
       
Potsdam College is pleased to induct Joe Galea into the Sports Hall of Fame.
