Peter Burvenich was a man for all seasons at Potsdam College.

Burvenich is one of just two athletes to earn three varsity letters at Potsdam College since 1947, lettering in soccer, basketball and tennis.

A wing in soccer, Burvenich was named all-conference in 1962 and made the New York State all-star team in 1961. He was the leading scorer on the 1962 team that posted a 7-1-2 record, best in school history. He received honorable mention All-America recognition as a sophomore.

Burvenich was a key member of Potsdam’s first-ever championship basketball team in 1962-63, and played both singles and doubles in tennis. The Bears had a 14-2 record in tennis Pete’s final two seasons.

A 1964 graduate, Burvenich has taught in the Bay Shore Public Schools for the past 17 years. He coaches Bay Shore’s freshman soccer team and supervises intramural activities.

With great pride, Potsdam College inducts Peter Burvenich to its Sports Hall of Fame.
