Hall of Fame
Over the past three decades much of the success of the Bears Athletic program can be credited to an outstanding athletic trainer who was always there to help every step of the way.
Pete Farrell was a member of the SUNY Potsdam athletic training staff for 32 years. Even more important than his duties as athletic trainer, he is fondly remembered as a friend and adviser to both coaches and athletes.
Farrell was instrumental in the success of the Bears, helping players overcome injuries, lending advice to coaches and always looking out for the best interests of student athletes.
Farrell also initiated the student–training program at Potsdam and served as lecturer for the New York State Coaching Certification program.
In 1980, Farrell honored the college by serving as physical therapist/athletic trainer at the 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid.
Farrell, an avid golfer, is now retired and lives with is wife, Linda, in Maine.
