Bio from Induction
Harold was a starter on the varsity basketball team for four years. He led the team in scoring in his sophomore year. He was named MVP in the SUNYAC Tournament, won by Potsdam, in 1963. Throughout his career his unusual jumping ability was repeated and admired by fan and foe. At 5’10” he was capable of performing the handed dunk.
After two years of teaching junior high in Massena, Harold became a teacher and counsellor at the Bershire Farm for Boys, a private school for Wayward Boys in Canaan, New York. In his six and a half years there, he worked his way up to Director of one of the units at that school.
In 1974, he went to work for the New York State Division of Youth as a special counsellor for rehabilitation of “hard-core” juveniles. He currently is a Regional Director responsible for the youth rehab program in 16 counties.
Harold holds a Master’s in Psychology from SUNY Albany. He spends most of his free time playing the drums in jazz concerts in New York City and Boston. He also participates in two city adult basketball leagues in the Albany Area.
